Across ten interviews, the repeated pattern is not one universal stack. It is a small number of stack positions: build the product, host it, take payment, observe usage, communicate with customers, and coordinate work.

Tools survive when they own a clear job

Slack and Linear recur inside team workflows. Stripe recurs at the payment boundary. AWS and Cloudflare appear where founders accept infrastructure responsibility. Figma, Airtable, Trello, and Bubble show that a tool can also encode the operating model—not merely support it.

AI tools are used as a portfolio

Supademo rotates between Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex. Subscribr leans heavily on Claude Code. YouForm uses an OpenAI model for fraud detection. Those are three different jobs, so a single “best AI tool” ranking would erase the useful context.

Evidence limits

All revenue and performance figures in this release are founder-reported. Most contexts come from one publisher’s interviews. One episode had an identified tool sponsor. These observations are useful for forming a shortlist, but they are not controlled tests and do not establish causal rankings.
